Haha, so yes, I've decided to join Instagram to try it out and see what happens. If you guys want to follow me there as well, I would definitely love it! I'll be posting work-in-progress images as well as some other arty stuff. If you feel so inclined, you can follow me ShaleseSands.

In other news, I'm working on a couple of commissions (I've been posting WIPs on my Facebook page of those) and have continued my big 16" X 20" scratchboard of a Friesian running on the beach. That one's going to take such a looong time, but it will be well worth it (hopefully!). I'm also working on preparing for the annual art festival in town here, which will be next weekend. I've brought my bobcat triptych, "Feline Finesse" in to be framed this past week, so when I get it back I'll have to post it here for you all to see (it's gonna be SO awesome!).

Yes, you read that right! In September of 2016, I will be going on an African Safari with a few artist friends! We will be going to Tanzania and exploring the country, seeing and photographing as much wildlife as we possibly can. I've been dreaming of doing something like this for a loooooooong time, so it's really hard to believe that it's not only possible, but going to actually happen! You guys can just about guess how much inspiration I'll come back with from this trip. The good thing is, I have a little over a year to prepare for it, but I'm sure it's going fly by. 

In other news, I've been busy with my Federal Duck Stamp entry and working on some smaller scratchboard pieces. I also have a couple of commissions coming up, so stay tuned for those as well. Hey guys! It's been a while since I've posted a journal update, but I have been busy getting pieces ready for The Out West Art Show and Sale in Great Falls, Montana, which I just came back from yesterday. I had lots of fun, just like last year, and managed to sell 7 pieces! Not as much as last year, but the payout was about the same. These shows are always so invigorating and inspiring, so I can't wait to start making more for next year. Here are some small thumbnails of the pieces that sold this week:

         

There was also a little 6" X 6" moose study that I sold, but I don't have it uploaded here. If you're curious as to how that one looks, you can check out my Facebook Art Page. Anywho, hope you're all doing well! I'm working on a small swan painting currently for a contest, so I'll see if I can finish that one in time. So happy, thrilled, and honored to have received a DD! Of all the pieces in my gallery, it is definitely the one I would have liked to get a DD, so I'm just stoked about that.
